And now the end is near and so…..

Last South Africa post for a while….sadly!

fishopandburger

we will be going off on the next leg of our journey.

We have been in South Africa now for 20 weeks now and sadly, tomorrow night we will be leaving. We are going back to the UK for 3 days to catch up with friends and family before flying to Washington to commence our 6 month road trip around the United States and Canada. Our intention is to head North East and go to Philadelphia, then New York, Boston, Vermont/Maine and then cross into Canada and go to Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto before crossing back into the US at Niagara Falls. We will then be going anti-clockwise around the States before getting back to Baltimore on 4th November. Most of the journey will be around the perimeter states but we will be heading inland on certain occasions to places such as Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon etc so…

All Change! Countdown to USA!

We now have less than two weeks left in South Africa before we leave for America on our intrepid travels! This means that I’ve been focusing a lot more on planning for our trip and reading/researching hotels, motels, diners, routes, restaurants etc etc etc as I don’t like going anywhere unprepared. A large part of me would love to be one of those people who just go somewhere on a whim and end up where the mood takes you without planning anything much, as then it would be a real ‘adventure’! But of course, my OCD doesn’t allow for that (there is a reason I’m a planner by trade after all).

Though I’ve been focusing a lot of my attention on our upcoming trip, we have also been eating out and I have quite a few reviews to finish up before we leave, so hopefully this week will allow for that….

Insanity Max:30 Review – Cardio Challenge!

Cardio Challenge is the first routine in the Insanity Max:30 program, and Shaun T urges you to use this one as you fit test, and tells you immediately to monitor the time you ‘max out’ or first have to take a break. In the background are some very fit looking people in the typical Beachbody fitness studio setup. Continue reading

More Exercise – Insanity Max:30!

I have been very quiet on the review side recently as we’ve scaled down the eating out quite a bit over the last couple of weeks. In about three weeks’ time we are starting a six month road trip of America and in preparation I’ve started exercising more and eating better to be in tip-top shape by the time we get there. On the 18th March I completed my first round of 21 Day Fix and I loved it, Continue reading

21 Day Fix – Detailed Schedule

I started doing a second round of 21 Day Fix last week and thought I’d share my detailed schedule with you. I basically just noted down all the exercises and tried to fit it all onto an A4 sheet so you can keep track of how many of each exercise you are doing and you can track improvement over time. You’ll see blank spaces for Pilates and Yoga…because I am still not doing those!

Have fun!

Durbanville Hills – Some Different Hills

Sometimes eating out feels a bit like always being on ‘duty’ and like hard work. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE food and I love eating out – but sometimes I just want to relax and not have to think about taking pictures of the food, the restaurant and the view. Or just go somewhere without ‘judging’ the quality of the food, service and atmosphere. Yes, I know it is my own choice and it’s not even like I’m a famous blogger or anyone reads my witterings, but I decided to just take Easter weekend off and relax with family and friends and not think about blogging or restaurants.
